Taking a car that's known for it's superb handling and totally destroying the suspension just reeks of stupidity.

Everyones jimmies are about to be rustled.

The first picture makes me sad deep on the inside parts, the rest look not bad.

These cars are perfect examples of why I HAAAAAATTTTTEEEE stance.
These people took cars whose sole reason for existing is to handle great, and just said, "ah screw it, I want it to be lower and have horrible looking stretched tires, who cares about handling?"
Keep that garbage on a Jetta or some crap.

Well, if they are all bagged, it isn't so bad I think?

Bagged doesn't necessarily make for good handling. It just makes for better handling than cut down springs.

Wait... Bagged and stanced are two different things, right? Cause I like the bagged, but hate the stance...

I think I've upset the Oppo crowd..

I thought stance was kind of a collective term?

As an Elise owner, my first thought is outrage. But then I settled down and realized that I love my car for lots of reasons - how it looks being one of them. If these guys like the car for their looks and like to "stance" them then its their car and whatever makes them happy.
On the other hand I personally think it looks awful and is a stupid thing to do.

I think you're right, cause static is when your low on coilovers.

Maybe, idk though. I always thought stance was when you lowered the car and screwed with the camber. Bagged is just adjustable suspension. I think.

To do this to a car, a car which even a James Bond stunt driver failed to get to best out of purely because it's handling was so brilliant, is utter sacrilege in my eyes.

People,

Argh exactly baller you hit it on the head. I'm too much of an indentured servant in these global economy times to afford one of these, but why do these people have to ruin semi-attainable cars for the rest of us. This is why we can't have nice things.

Lotus know what they're doing. Stancers don't. Not like Lotus do.

Die in a fire.

Some people just want to watch the world burn. I guess this isn't so bad. I bet it ruins the way the car performs, but I wouldn't know.
![]() 06/05/2014 at 10:52 |

Kind of looks normal. Is this stance?
![]() 06/05/2014 at 10:53 |

Anything that changes the ride height without addressing the location of the suspension pivot points is going to trash the handling characteristics of the car. Coilovers, cut springs, airbags or whatever method you chose isn't going to keep it from completely fucking up your roll centers.

Good for you for fighting the good fight. I don't know how it is so difficult for people to understand that what brings us all to this site is passion, and sometimes passion leads us to do things that don't make sense. Clearly these Lotus owners love their cars.

No, no, no, no, no. It was add lightness, not lose rightness.

hahaha epic, I love that people have different tastes in car modification, but come on why do they have to do this to these cars? They are alike all chassis and suspension and very little motor. I might like a stanced one of these, mainly because they are terrible to drive and stance is all about looks:
